Behavioral Medicine Center

The Behavioral Medicine Center at Abbeville General Hospital partners with Compass Health to provide a caring supportive environment specially designed to meet the emotional health needs of adults, 18 and older.

Through a structured plan of individual counseling, group therapy, coordinated activities, and family support, patients are given the opportunity for the renewal of social, physical, and mental skills.

The Behavioral Medicine Center is a 16-bed inpatient unit directed by the Medical Director, with additional Psychiatrists and Nurse Practitioners. In addition, the unit is staffed with specially trained Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Mental Health Technicians, an Activity Therapist, and Social Workers.
