Michael J. Bertrand, II, MS, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Chief Executive Officer of Hospital Service District #2, Parish of Vermilion, Abbeville General Hospital. Bertrand, a native of Abbeville, has over 23 years of business management experience. Bertrand is a 1990 graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School and 1997 graduate of Northeast Louisiana University. In 1998, he received a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Cardiac Rehabilitation from Northeast Louisiana University and in 2012 completed his Masters of Business Administration from University of Phoenix, Lafayette, LA. His Military Experience includes the United States Sergeants Major Academy in Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX in 2009, and in 2010 retired as First Sergeant with the Louisiana National Guard.
William Troy Hair
Chief Financial Officer
Native of Gueydan, has 23 years of hospital and nursing home financial management experience, 20 of which are at Abbeville General. Hair is a 1988 graduate of Gueydan High School, and a 1994 graduate of Louisiana Tech University. He is a graduate of Leadership Vermilion Class 4.
Heidi Guidry, RN, MSN, MBA
Chief Nursing Officer
Native of Maurice, has 27 years of nursing and management experience, and a total of 28 years working for Abbeville General. Guidry is a 1990 graduate of North Vermilion High School and a 1995 graduate of USL with a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. She became Board Certified in Infection Prevention and Control in 2015. She is a graduate of Leadership Vermilion Class 3. Effective March 28, 2016, Guidry was promoted to the position of Chief Nursing Officer. In December of 2021, she received a Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Healthcare Systems Administration and Leadership (HSAL) as well as a Masters of Business Administration, both from Loyola University of New Orleans.
Tom Pigott, RN, BSN, MBA
Chief Operating Officer
A native of Picayune, MS, has 23 years of clinical nursing and hospital administrative experience and has been employed by Abbeville General since 2006 as an Administrative Officer. Pigott attended Pearl River Central High School in Carriere, MS, and graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 1994 and the University of South Alabama in 1997. Prior to becoming a nurse, Pigott was a commercial diver in the Gulf of Mexico for 9 years. Pigott was promoted to Chief Operating Officer on March 18, 2020, and completed his Master of Business Administration degree at LSUS in August 2022. He is a graduate of Leadership Vermilion Class 9.
Brittany Thibodeaux, RN, BSN
Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer
Native of Erath, has 12 years of clinical nursing and hospital administration experience. In September 2016, Thibodeaux received a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma performance management theory. Thibodeaux is a 2002 graduate of Erath High School and 2007 McNeese State University College. She is a graduate of Leadership Vermilion Class 2. Effective April 4, 2016, Thibodeaux was promoted to Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer.
Dondi Arceneaux, MHA, FACHE
Chief Support Services Officer
Native of Lafayette, LA, has 19 years of clinical and hospital administrative experience, 6 of which are at Abbeville General. Arceneaux is a 1994 graduate of Northside High School, a 2015 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and earned a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Louisiana State University in 2017. He is a graduate of Leadership Vermilion Class 7. In 2020, Arceneaux was promoted to Chief Support Services Officer and earned his Fellowship and Board Certification with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) in December 2021.
Chuck Guidry, RN, MBA
Chief Information Technology Officer
Native of Kaplan, has 22 years of nursing management and administrative experience, all at Abbeville General. Guidry is a 1991 graduate of Kaplan High School, a 1997 graduate of USL with a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and in 2016 received a Master’s in Business Administration from LSU. He is also a graduate of Leadership Vermilion Class 2. He served as COO from 2015 to 2019 and over the last year has worked on broadening Abbeville General’s presence in the community in Network Development. As of November 2020, Guidry was promoted to Chief Information Technology Officer.
Weston Miller III, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Native of Abbeville, Dr. Miller is a 1971 graduate from LSU Baton Rouge and received his Medical Degree from LSU New Orleans in 1974. He completed his Surgery Residency at LSU Affiliated Hospitals in New Orleans in 1978. His first work experience at Abbeville General was 1967. Miller served as Chief of Staff in 1983 and has been on Medical Staff of Abbeville General since 1978. He practices as a Board Certified General Surgeon in the community and is Chief Medical Advisor to the hospital.
Claude Meeks, M.D.
Chief of Medical Staff
A Native of Port Arthur, TX, Dr. Meeks completed his B.S. from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX in 1993. He received his Medical Degree in 2003 from Spartan Health Sciences University in St. Lucia, British West Indies. Dr. Meeks completed his residency at University Medical Center LSU in 2007. Dr. Meeks has been with Abbeville General since 2007. He is currently board certified in Family Medicine, has 16 years of Emergency Medicine experience, serves as the Medical Director of our Detox Program, and is also Chief of Medical Staff.
