Abbeville General has documented record setting COVID-19 cases over the past 10 days in our community.
Since opening up Phase 2 of the COVID crisis, our community has experienced a record setting number of positive COVID cases. The incubation period for the Coronavirus is 2-14 days. Since opening phase 2 on 6/3/20, 25 positive cases of COVID have been documented. We are experiencing community spread of COVID-19!
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, new cases are growing fastest among young adults, ages 18-29.
Of the cases reported to the state, most of these cases are related to large social gatherings. Examples identified are weddings, birthday parties, showers, and vacations.
Everyone is reminded to:
- Mask when in public
- Maintain social distancing
- Wash hands frequently
